ILOILO City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has ordered members of Task force Asis to remove abandoned vehicles on the streets of Jaro, Lapaz to lessen traffic congestion.

TF Asis chief Engr. Roberto Dumanil said there are at least 50 old vehicles that constrict the streets’ passageways.

Most of vehicles are being kept at the old slaughterhouse in Molo district pending the claim of the owner.

Mabilog said it is urgent that the dilapidated vehicles be removed from the streets, which compelled the City Government to buy a towing truck unit.

The city mayor is also requesting the public to report any presence of dilapidated vehicles by calling the local Task Force Asis at 333-1111.

Illegally parked vehicles on the streets for long hours will be placed with clamps, while vehicle owners will be fined.
