THE son of the former President Ferdinand Marcos, Ilocos Representative Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, revealed that he wants to run for the Senate in the 2010 general electios.
"Times have changed and the situations now are far different but I have to apply the best Marcos way in governance," he said.

He said anywhere he go in his provincial sorties, many people are saying that the government is much better during the time of his late father especially in the government bureaucracy, peace and order, education, health and food sufficiency.
The young Marcos was governor of Ilocos Norte for three terms and is currently filling the slot vacated by his eldest sister Aimee in the House of Representatives.
Marcos admitted he cannot discount the political strength of a particular area.
He said he is trying to get and feel the political terrain of Western Visayas as he is much at home in Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and Eastern Visayas regions and parts of Central Luzon and Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao.
He said he was invited by former President Joseph Estrada to be a guest senatorial candidate of the Partido ng Masang Pilino and also invited to join the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) and the Nacionalista Party headed by Senator Manuel Villar.
However, the young Marcos said he will always remain a stalwart of his father's political party, the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL), which still accounts many government officials and political leaders in the national and local levels.
Explaining his presence at the wake of the late President Corazon Aquino, the Marcos commented on the reported Marcos-Aquino long time political war.
Marcos stressed that the political war between the two families was long time over and there is no personal animosity between them.
It was a common courtesy of the Marcos family in showing condolence to the Aquino family, he said. Both the Aquino and Marcos families now belong to the political opposition.
"In fact, the Marcoses are not the main issue anymore but the failure of government bureaucracy in bringing good and honest governance. I am asking the Filipino people to pick better leaders in the next election," Marcos said.

re: Mr Bongbong Marcos & his "dream"
To be fair, Mr. Bongbong Marcos is really entitled to his own "dream(s)". Ok. But he has not proven to the "hurting Filipinos" that he & his family honestly repented of their deeds that made RP "a slave to the dictator Marcos" with his martial law & corruption & robbery of the nation's wealth. He cannot persuade the people that he is different from his dictator father, "like father, like son"? They need to return the "ill-gotten wealth" which their family acquired from RP during martial law, and that should be made public & open & worldwide so people would see that they acknowledge their guilt and change their ways & attitudes?

Yeah, he sure is right! We
Yeah, he sure is right! We Filipinos must learn to pick better leaders in the next elections. One way we can do it is make sure he's not elected. As the saying goes, "wala'y Marcosay"! Let's not go back to where we were before.
