In 2008, the city also registered P101 million surplus to start on the 2009 annual budget of some P985 million. The 2010 city budget on the other hand, is more than P1.2 billion.
Treñas said with the good fiscal performance, the city is emerging as the best managed city attracting more investments in business and tourism.
The over-collection of taxes was enhanced as a good showing of proper fiscal management with the implementation of computerization in these three fiscal offices, he said.
But Treñas also advised the next city mayor to maintain a small office for tax collection at the shopping mall for the customers’ easy access.
