Friday, July 30, 2010

FAMILY Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP)-Iloilo is celebrating its 41st anniversary as one of the pioneering public service non-government organizations (NGO) in Iloilo City on the first week of August 2010.

Chapter manager Mona Diones announced this recently while preparing for several celebration activities for the week.

Updates on President Benigno Aquino III's presidency

The activities will include a medical mission on August 6, pap smear promo on August 2-5 for only P100 from the usual P500, and a Lady and Trust pill promo on August 2-6.

Diones said the general public, especially women of reproductive age, are enjoined to avail of the product promotion and pap smear, which usually cost P1,000 in hospitals.

Six specialized doctors will render public service during the medical mission and pap smear at the FPOP clinic at YMCA building along Iznart Street in Iloilo City center.

Diones said after 41 years of providing reproductive health products and services, as well as advocating for reproductive health as a basic and inviolable human right, FPOP is stronger than ever with its chapters and clinics around the country.

The Iloilo chapter and clinic is one of the most outstanding and active FPOP chapters nationwide. (LCP)
