Poll body designates common poster areas

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has designated seven common poster areas in Iloilo City for the campaign materials of national and local candidates.
The common poster areas are at corner Osmeña and Rizal streets as portion of Arevalo Plaza; portion of Molo Plaza fronting Consing residence and Caltex gasoline station; corner Oñate and Q. Abeto streets as portion of the Mandurriao Plaza; Rizal street fronting Andok’s as a portion of Jaro Plaza; Burgos Mabini street fronting La Paz Maternity Clinic as a portion of La Paz Plaza; Lapuz National High School at Abanilla street; and portion of Plaza Libertad fronting PNB JM Basa street at the city proper.

All political parties and election candidates and others concerned received the notice from the Comelec last Monday, February 8.
G. Bert Arbis, acting city Comelec officer, said the candidates can only use the areas for their posters and other campaign materials starting February 9, 2010 for the national candidates and March 26, 2010 for the local candidates. (LCP)
