LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte - Incumbent Mayor Michael Fariñas and Association of Barangay Councils president Chevylle Fariñas on Thursday proved they are the couple to beat as they were proclaimed mayor and vice mayor respectively.

Chevylle won the position over former mayor Roger Fariñas, her husband's uncle. Chevylle obtained 37,530 votes while Roger got 15,381 votes.
