CEBU CITY -- A policeman was mauled before he was shot and killed by two men who shared one motorcycle, while the officer looked for his stolen helmet on P. Del Rosario St., Barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City at dawn Saturday.

An autopsy result showed Police Officer 2 (PO2) Gerlito Estremos died from a fatal gunshot wound in his head. He is a leader of the alert team of Police Station 2 in Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) and a father of six.

Dengue kills 5 in Kidapawan

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Forty-eight families whose houses were damaged by the recent 5.7 magnitude earthquake in Carmen, North Cotabato were ordered to vacate their places to ensure their safety while the Carmen-Bukidnon fault is still experiencing a swarm of earth movements.

The evacuation started Friday, according to Brillia Abuyme, 44, of Purok-4, Barangay Kimadzil in Carmen, one of the quake victims.

A 49-year-old farmer voluntarily surrendered after killing his sister-in-law in a stabbing incident in Barangay Fatima, Paquibato District, Davao City on Thursday.

The suspect was identified as Narciso Flores Nale, of the same place, while the victim was identified as Agustina Hermoso Nale, a 45-year-old housekeeper.

City Hall has yet to implement 32 projects

Rules on trees stop road project
