FOUR police recruits from the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Cordillera were tested positive for the influenza A (H1N1) virus.
The recruits, according to Cordillera Police Regional Director Orlando Pestaño, are now confined at the St. Louis University Medical Center and are closely cooperating with the Department of Health (DOH) to ensure their safety.

Pestaño said that “all other police recruits from the Cordillera Training School are under quarantine with the supervision of the DOH regional office.”
“Precautionary measures have also been taken such as providing an ample supply of Vitamin C to the recruits and the intensification of our cleanliness program,” he added.
With the new cases, the Philippine National Police (PNP) further intensified its force protection against the pandemic influenza.
The PNP Health Service has started giving dietary supplements and vitamins to police recruits from various regions in order to prevent other incidents of contamination.
Earlier, PNP chief Jesus Verzosa ordered force protection among personnel assigned with the Aviation Security Group (ASG) and Maritime Group (MG) who have become vulnerable to contamination because of their assignment in various ports of entry.
A group of policemen from the ASG, MG, Special Action Force Group, and Crime Laboratory have also completed the required training on Pandemic Rapid Response and Quarantine Procedures. (Jill Beltran/Press release)
