5 housemates nominated this week

HISTORY repeated itself inside the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) house as the number of the nominated housemates exceeded that of the safe ones.

This situation happened already in the first season of PBB when housemate Uma Khouny was the only housemate saved from the nomination leaving his other four friends in the verge of eviction.

On the Sunday night episode of PBB Double Up, five housemates were placed in the list namely Tibo, Cathy, Mariel, Hermes, and the first-time nominee Melissa.

But minutes before the nomination night, Big Utol called Paul Jake inside the makeshift confession room for the start of their weekly battle for the Head of Household (HOH) belt.

For this week’s game, the staying power of the housemates was put to a test as they try to sit longer on top of a moving mechanical bull.

In the first round the housemates were allowed to use both hands to hold the bull. Four housemates with the longest record will move on to the next round.

Johan went first and stayed for 2.24 minutes followed by Paul Jake with 2.46 minutes, Jason with five seconds, Tibo with 15 seconds, Hermes with 30 seconds, Mariel with 27 seconds while Melissa, Cathy, and Kath completed the three minutes allotted time.

On the second round Paul Jake, Melissa, Cathy, and Kath were only allowed to use one hand to hold the mechanical bull. It was Paul Jake and Kath who moved to the final round.

While it was Paul Jake's turn on the mechanical bull, the housemate from Cebu told Kath to count from one to 10. The latter and some of the housemates, without even knowing his intention, obeyed his request.

When the counter reached number 10, and almost staying on top of the bull for a minute, Paul Jake willingly gave up the game for Kath.

The proud mommy from Spain couldn't believe what had happen and thanked Paul Jake for giving her the opportunity to be the HOH for this week.

In the confession room, Big Utol then asked Paul Jake the reason behind his decision during the HOH battle.

Paul Jake said at one point he had given his word that if he and Kath will meet on the face off round, he will give it to her.

“Masaya ako para sa kanya Big Utol kasi konti na lang po yung weeks and nakadalawang beses na po akong HOH so maganda na ma-experience ng ibang tao din yun (I am happy for her Big Utol because there are only few weeks remaining and I was the HOH twice and it will be very nice for the other housemates to experience it also),” he said.

Kath is very happy and at the same time shy with Paul Jake’s move.

To know who will be the one to give the automatic three-point vote this week, the five “kulelat” housemates continued the game.

Jason unfortunately was the one tasked to give the automatic nomination.

Minutes before the nomination night, Jason decided to give the three automatic points to Tibo.

Tibo said he already sensed that Jason will choose him. “Nahulaan ko na sa mata nya na di sya tumingin sa akin pero okay lang po yun (I already guess that he will give it to me because I saw it in his eyes but it's okay."

Nomination process

With less people to vote, each housemate is having a difficult time to decide on who to nominate this week.

During the voting process, almost all the housemates received votes to evict except for Jason.

For the first time, Melissa, Jason's lady love, got the highest number of votes. Her co-housemates are starting to see a shift in her behavior inside the house.

Hermes is also nominated this week with five points for being too reserved and the housemates still feel that there's a wall separating him from the rest of them.

Tibo, who was given automatic three-points to evict by Jason, received a total of five points. Two of which came from Melissa who felt that Tibo is always acting as the right one just like Big Brother inside the house.

Both Mariel and Cathy each got four votes to evict, which led to their nomination this week.

Mariel was voted because of her attitude and behavior during the tagayan session with Big Utol.

Cathy meanwhile was nominated because the housemates felt that she's just too safe and doesn't have an open mind in everything and keeps on complaining.

Char Char Change

Big Utol is striking again as he introduced the biggest twist the housemates is yet to face.

He launched "Char Char Change," a new happening inside the house wherein the housemates were made to believe that the power to evict a co-housemate at the end of the week lies in their hands.

With this bold move, Big Utol wants to see how the housemates will react and interact with each other as they were made to believe that the stakes are higher and one wrong move can ruin their chances of staying inside the house.

Will this change one's attitude? Will someone play the game too safe and will there be any changes inside the house? These things are yet to be seen as Big Utol continues to challenge each housemate on their remaining days inside PBB house. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
