Angel overwhelmed by success of ‘Lobo’

ACTRESS Angel Locsin said she is happy that her defunct series “Lobo” is still gaining accolades.

The fantasy-thriller television series “Lobo” that marked Angel’s debut on ABS-CBN was hailed recently as the winner for the Teleserye Program category in the recent 30th Banff World Television Awards held at Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Canada.

“I am overwhelmed,” said Angel. “It was such a great honor for our country. I am proud and happy because I was given different kinds of projects wherein I can show my skills.”

Lobo was chosen from over 800 entries representing 29 countries. Twenty-three were chosen as category winners and “Lobo” was one of the selected few.

Angel also applauded her directors and co-stars who were behind the success of “Lobo,” starting from her leading man Piolo Pascual, Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina, FM Reyes, and Jerry Lopez Sineneng.

“Lobo” depicted the love story of Lyka (Angel), a woman who belongs to a clan of white wolves, and Noah, who portrayed an army officer who falls in love with Lyka.

Banff World Television Festival is a prestigious affair dedicated to word television programming, including its creation and development. It is attended by renowned celebrities, writers, directors, and producers from broadcast and production companies around the globe.

Aside from the accolades, Angel also excitedly shared that “Lobo” has a DVD copy now, distributed by Star Home Video. (JRDB/Sunnex)
