Arroyo visits Bulacan, Pampanga


PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Monday headed the distribution of relief goods to typhoon victims in Bulacan and her hometown Pampanga.

She went to the municipal gym of Poblacion in Sta. Maria to extend relief assistance to some 1,500 families coming from three barangays – Poblacion, Sta. Clara, and Lalakhan.

She then proceeded to nearby Barangay Bagbaguin to also distribute relief packs to another 1,500 families.

Some 1,000 families came from Barangay Bagbaguin while 250 families each came from barangays San Jose Patag and Tumana.

Bulacan Governor Joselito Mendoza, Sta. Maria Mayor Bartolome Ramos, Bulacan 4th District Representative Reynila Nicolas, and Poblacion Barangay Captain Abundio Francisco accompanied President Arroyo.

After her visit to Bulacan, the President then motored to her hometown in Pampanga to distribute the remaining relief packs she had.

She went to barangays San Juan and San Pedro in San Simon town for relief distribution.

The relief packs distributed to the victims were consisted of rice, canned goods, noodles, and used clothing.

And then she proceeded to Guagua Pampanga to give out some Philhealth cards to selected residents there.

The health cards distribution was held at a barangay covered court in Sta. Ines Betis in Guagua, Pampanga.

Arroyo also led the inspection of the requested upgrading of Sto. Cristo barangay road in Sto. Cristo, Guagua.
