FOUR freshmen students from Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle University passed a rigorous screening process to become this year’s Globe-SingTel Undergraduate Scholarship Program awardees.
Michael Steven Molion, Danielle Royon, Germaine Erika Kaw, and Paolo Romeo Aquino passed a tough selection process that involved paper screening, intensive interviews, and leadership and behavioral assessments to be awarded the full scholarships covering tuition and allowances for the entire duration of their undergraduate course.
Molion is taking B.S. Management Engineering, while Royon and Kaw are both taking up B.S. Management-Honors Program at the Ateneo. Aquino, on the other hand, is a B.S. Applied Economics and Marketing Management student at De La Salle.
Spearheaded by Globe Telecom, together with its shareholder Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel), the scholarship program aims to support and develop next generation leaders in the field of business and information technology in the Asia Pacific region.
The scholarship program also serves as an opportunity for Globe and SingTel to spot talents early for future leadership roles.
Upon graduation, the students will have a chance to have an internship stint in SingTel, and the opportunity to be part of the Management Associate Program of SingTel or Globe.
The program was launched in 2008 by SingTel in partnership with its local affiliates in Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia. It was introduced in the Philippines only last year in partnership with Globe. (PR)
