Monday, May 10, 2010
THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday has announced the official website where the results of automated elections will be posted.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez in a press briefing at the Philippine International Cultural Center said the website is www.ibanangayon.ph.
“The website will be updated every 20 minutes,” said Jimenez.
Election results available on the website as of this writing are official precinct results but still untallied.
Smartmatic Asia Pacific President Cesar Flores said in separate interview that about 16 percent of precinct results in the entire country have already transmitted to the Comelec.
Comelec will release initial consolidated results at 9 p.m., according to Jimenez.
He added that they are expecting 20 percent of the results nationwide will be in by 9 p.m.
The Comelec said that the official consolidated results will come from the city and provincial board of canvassers.
“The website gives a clearer picture of the elections as everyone can do a quick count of the election results,” said Comelec Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal.
The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), meanwhile, will be releasing a separate election result. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
