THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) announced the creation of the National Efficiency and Integrity Board (NEIB) in a bid to pursue the anti-corruption stance of the Aquino administration.
Dole Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the NEIB will serve as an overall monitoring body with authority to evaluate institutional performance and efficiency of all Dole offices and its attached agencies.

The NEIB shall serve as an oversight body to monitor strict observance of the Anti-Red Tape Act, Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, and Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
Among the specific functions of the NEIB are to receive complaints directly from the public or initiate fact-finding investigation on allegations of corruption, among others.
The NEIB shall be composed of two representatives from the labor and employer sectors, and one from the government, who will be the board's presiding officer.
They shall be appointed by the Dole Secretary and shall serve for three years although they are still subject for re-appointment. (AMN/Sunnex)
