Jessy receives Louis Vuitton pouch from Gerald

"BUDOY" lead actress Jessy Mendiola revealed she received a Louis Vuitton pouch from co-star and leading man Gerald Anderson during the holidays.

Jessy, however, clarified in an interview that Gerald is not courting her.

She also dismissed reports they went on several dates even before "Budoy" started. Jessy said she only met Gerald when they were called for the primetime project.

"Hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling yung nakita daw kami na naglalakad sa Glorietta; nakita daw kaming magkasama. Never kaming nagkasama ni Gerald before 'Budoy.'"

Even now that they are working together in one project, Jessy said they never went to any date. She said people could only spot them together if there are parties or events organized by their bosses or ABS-CBN's top executives.

"Mas okay sa akin na walang ganun (issue na nali-link kami) kasi yung iba, eh, hindi naman talaga totoo, eh, pinipilit nila. Kami ni Gerald yung relationship namin very professional, eh," she said.

Jessy, meanwhile, said she is happy of how people accepted their team-up even if they are not officially a couple and they are both linked to other names in the entertainment industry.

Gerald is recently linked to Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo while Jessy is paired with "Budoy" co-star Enrique Gil.

Jessy said she wanted a relationship like that of Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz, who both remained close friends in real life even if they are not a couple.

"Hindi man sila (Bea and John Lloyd) in real life pero kaya nalang magtrabaho ng magkasama; they can make it work. So masaya naman kami ni Gerald na yung mga tao ngayon, eh, open na sila sa ganun."

She added that she feels flattered with kind words from Gerald's fans.

When asked why it never worked out between her and Gerald, Jessy said they are just not compatible to be a couple.

"Si Gerald kasi mas nakikita ko siya as a friend. Talagang naglolokohan lang kami sa show. Wala naman akong ideal man pero hindi lang talagang nag-click and alangan namang pilitin namin yun diba," she said. (Sunnex)
