TELEVISION host Carmina Villarroel believes the National Artist Award should have been given to Comedy King Dolphy a long time ago.
"Dapat matagal na. Nakakalungkot lang na kung kelan ganito, eh dun pa. Parang nabigyan mo nga ng parangal pero hindi mo nga napa-feel sa artista how important the person is and his contributions."
Carmina believes this should serve as a lesson to everyone.
"Eye opener ito sa mga tao na kung sinong karapatdapat na habang andidiyan pa, eh parangalan na. Si Tito Dolphy hindi naman basta basta. Ang dami niyang achievements at na-contribute sa industry natin."
Although she was able to visit Dolphy in the hospital, the actress said she gets all her updates from manager Dolor Guevarra, who is a close friend of the Quizons.
She's also constantly sending all her prayers and words of encouragement to Dolphy's long time partner Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Right now, Carmina is asking everyone’s continuous prayers and support not only to Dolphy, but also to the rest of the family.
"Ang important now eh nagpa-pray tayong lahat kasi diba prayers can move mountains."
When asked what memory she will never forget of the Comedy King, Carmina said Dolphy will always remember everyone's name and remained very humble even with his stature.
"Ang daming comedians na idol siya. Isa siyang inspiration at ang dami niyang natulungan. Wala siyang masamang tinapay. Siya yung King of Comedy pero everytime you would see him, he's very humble. Wala siyang yabang sa katawan," she ended.
Dolphy is still in the Intensive Care Unit of the Makati Medical Center and still under critical condition. (Sunnex)
