Vice Ganda on his brand of comedy

VICE Ganda will never grow tired of doing comedy despite a flurry of negative issues attached to his name.

Known for his wit and humor, the "Gandang Gabi Vice" host says he doesn't follow scripts although he watches television shows and read the latest news as potential sources of punch lines.

"Wala talaga akong clear effort for reinvention,” he said. "Mahirap kasi na kung kumedyante ka tapos may material ka lang na sinusunod. Akin laging bago. As much as possible, eh hindi sila magsasawa sa ginagawa ko."

While hosting a daily show like “Showtime” and tapings for his Sunday variety program are physically tiring, Vice said he had to shrug it off so as not to disappoint the fans.

"Hindi ko na kasi iniisip na trabaho ito. Feeling ko purpose ko na ito sa buhay. Nase-serve ko na yung purpose ko at kumikita pa ako kaya di talaga pwedeng umangal sa kapaguran,” he said.

Vice is currently shooting a new movie opposite Toni Gonzaga. He is also set to grace the silver screen with close friend Kris Aquino in “Sistereka,” one of the eight entries in the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this December.

"Noon pa sabi ko na gusto kong makasakay ng float sa MMFF. Dati gusto kong maging bahagi ng isang Shake, Rattle and Roll installment. Yung ganung mga simple bagay eh pinangarap ko talaga,” he said.

Despite the fame, Vice said there are still a lot of things he wishes to achieve.

"Marami pa naman kulang kasi hindi naman ako perpektong tao pero hindi ko yun iniisip. Nagpapasalamat ako sa kung ano ang natatanggap ko at ano ang meron ako ngayon. Mas marami yung blessings ko kesa sa mga kulang na yun," he said.

Vice added that he already learned how to ignore rumors or any negative issues against him, saying intrigues are part of the entertainment industry.

"I-prepare ko man ang sarili ko eh may darating at darating talagang intriga. Ako kasi ang fino-focus ko yung sarili ko sa importante at kung ano yung priority ko sa buhay. Kung lahat yan pinatulan ko pa, kung nagpaapekto ako eh marami na akong nakaaway at baka nakakulong na ako ngayon,” he said.

"Matuturing ko paring mabuting tao ako kasi mas marami akong kakilalang mas masama sa akin," Vice ended. (Sunnex)
