"HINDI Ka Na Mag-iisa" lead actors Jennylyn Mercado and Sid Lucero went to Cebu during the weekend to treat their Cebuano supporters with series of events and fun-filled activities.

The actors said they were happy to have returned the "Queen City of the South" again because the place is "very close" to their heart.

Jennylyn said she visited the province early this year with son Alex Jazz. It was the first out-of-town trip of her son with actor Patrick Garcia.

The mother and son stayed at Plantation Bay in Lapu-Lapu City where they were able to relax for a couple of days and enjoy the simple life the place offered.

The actress also revealed that she has relatives living in Consolacion town, which was incidentally the venue of last weekend's events.

Sid, for his part, stayed and studied in Cebu City for four years after his parents, actors Mark Gil and Bing Pimentel separated.

"I was brought here by my mother and I stayed in my aunt's place. I understand (the Cebuano language) more than I can speak," he said.

The actor said he has lots of memorable experiences and friends in the province and he will never get tired of visiting the place.

Sid and Jennylyn will star the new afternoon soap "Hindi Ka Na Mag-iisa" of GMA Network channel.

According to Sid, he's excited to work with Jennylyn and share the small screen with Crystal Reyes, Carl Guevarra, siblings Frank and Saab Magalona and Angelu de Leon.

"She's always fun to work with. I worked with her before, about 10 years ago, then we did another movie and this is the first time I'll be doing a tv show with her. I'm just excited for this project," he said.

Sid said he is also thankful to his mother network for the opportunity to star in a new afternoon series after the success of "Legacy" on primetime block.

"It's flattering and at the same time very grateful and thankful. Every time I do a show, I feel like it is my last show and I don't know what's next for me. With this, I consider a very big blessing," said the actor who is slowly stepping out of the shadows of his parents and the whole Eigenmann clan.

Sid said he's slowly gaining the confidence. The pressure is lifted from his shoulders and he has this craving to better himself at work.

When asked if his father gave few tips on his showbiz career, the actor shared the message Mark gave him almost 10 years ago.

"He said to me 'Welcome to the ugly yet wonderful world of showbiz. Finally we have something to talk about. Don't think about what you are going to make, and don't think about who's watching because all of those will just come. Love your job and it will love you back," he said quoting his father.

The actor recently signed a two-year exclusive contract with GMA-7. He is expected to star in numerous series which will be produced by the network.

Sid is also part of Laguna Governor ER Ejercito's movie "El Presidente" with Superstar Nora Aunor. The President Emlio Aguinaldo movie is expected to be released on December, during the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Jennylyn and Sid's drama series airs weekdays after "Eat Bulaga on the Kapuso Network. (Sunnex)
