Eric requests family time with Dolphy

OVERWHELMED by the public's outpouring of love and support , the family of Comedy King Dolphy is requesting everyone to allow them to mourn and spend the last hours with their father.

As early as 5 a.m. on Saturday, people lined up at the Heritage Park in Taguig City to pay their last respect for the King of Comedy.

Director Eric Quizon, one of Dolphy's son, said the whole family is overwhelmed by the turnout of those who wanted to get a final glimpse of his father, but they want to have his last moments with him.

Philippines’ King of Comedy Dolphy succumbed to multiple organ failure secondary to complications brought about by severe pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and acute renal failure at 8:34 p.m. of July 10, 2012.
"This is something (the number of people who attended the wake). Kaya sa mga nagpapagod na andiyan ay maraming salamat sa pakikiramay sa amin. Natutuwa kami sa mga nagiging reaction ng tao, na andito sila at nakikiramay sa amin."

"Pero maiintindihan namin kung hindi kayo pupunta at makikiramay sa amin. Mas maganda panoorin na lang siya sa inyong mga telebisyon."

Erik said on Sunday, they will limit the number of media people who will cover the event and will designate areas accessible for the press.

After Dolphy's interment in afternoon, the actor/director revealed the family doesn't have exact plans yet. He added that on Dolphy's birthday on the 25th, they are yet to decide on what to do.

"We'll take it one day at a time at tingnan natin kung anong mga mangyayari. Mag mourn kami but we will be there for each other, itutuloy namin ang novena at yung mga kapatid ko ay may kanya kanya pang mga trabaho yan sa Amerika."

Meanwhile, the whole Quizon family accepts the apology made by talent manager Annabelle Rama on the reported heated confrontation between the latter and a member of the entertainment press.

Eric said Annabelle personally texted him and said sorry on the incident on Friday night incident.

"Nag text siya sa akin na sabi niya 'Pasensya ka na Eric ha, hindi ko lang na-contain yung sarili ko. Sana mapatawa ninyo ako".

"Tita Annabelle naiintindihan namin, pero sana hindi nangyari, pero wala yun sa amin, pinapatawad ka namin."

Eric added that if his dad were alive, he'll just brush off the misunderstanding.

"Sasabihin lang nun 'si Annabelle talaga oh'. How I wish na hindi nangyari dito, although hindi naman talaga sa loob ng funeral home, sa may dining area. Pero wala tayong magagawa." (Sunnex)
