Cebuano aspirant enters 'Artista Academy' Top 16

NEWEST talent reality search "Artista Academy" released the names of the final aspirants who will vie for the coveted P20 million worth of prizes.
Among the 16 contestants who managed to pass the first round of the competition is model Benjo Leoncio from Mabolo, Cebu.
The 21-year-old model told Sun.Star that he came all the way from the Queen City of the South to try his luck in showbizness.
The 5'10” Cebuano hopes to win the artista search and work with the biggest and brightest names in the industry.
Early favorites Jon Orlando, Mark Neumann and Vin Abrenica also made it to the Top 16.
Orlando, a Psychology student with Canadian-Italian and Filipino blood came all the way from Toronto just to participate in the program.
Seventeen-year-old Neumann has Croatian-Filipino blood and grew up in Germany. He can fluently speak Tagalog but he still got the nod of the judges.
Vin, meanwhile, is the younger brother of Kapuso actor Aljur Abrenica.
Completing the top 8 boys are Akihiro Blanco from Pasig City, Alberto Bruno from Marikina, Brent Manzano from Quezon City and Chris Leonardo from Laguna.
The girls who entered Top 16 include: Julia Quisumbing from Makati, Chanel Morales from Bacolod, Malak So Shdifat from Manila, Marvelous Alejo from Valenzuela, Nicole Estrada from Pasig City, Shaira Maie from Las Pinas City, Sophie Albert from Mandaluyong and Stephanie Rowe from Pampanga.
The Top 16 finalists will be given full scholarship at the Asian Academy of Television Arts and will undergo comprehensive curriculum-based training with the best and highly esteemed professionals in the television and movie industry, including multi-awarded director Joel Lamangan and music master Louie Ocampo.
The contestants will also be joined by actor Marvin Agustin every night in their journey to fame, while actor Cesar Montano takes charge as Live Presentor every Saturday evening.
Live Exams will be conducted by actress Lorna Tolentino, television host Gelli de Belen, and TV5 Talent Center Head and movie director Mac Alejandre.
