'Thy Womb' invited in Venice film festival

SUPERSTAR Nora Aunor's upcoming movie "Thy Womb" (Sinapupunan) directed by Brillante Mendoza was invited to compete in the 2012 Venice Film Festival.
"Ako ay nagpapasalamat na naisama sa Venice yung pelikula naming ginawa (I'm thankful that our movie has qualified in the Venice festival)," Aunor said.
The independent movie, which was shot in Tawi-Tawi is Mendoza's second film to be invited in the said festival. His prior film "Lola" also went head-to-head with other big international flicks in 2009. Onor
"It's the oldest festival in the world. This is their 69th year and one of the most prestigious. Maganda ang napakalaking festival," he said.
"Just to be among the filmmakers, at makuha sa main competition ay napakalaking karangalan na yun (being part of the festival is a great honor)," he added.
Aside from the said film, Aunor is also set to star in "El Presidente" with Laguna Governor ER Ejercito.
The project is directed by Tikoy Aguiluz and produced by Scenema Concept International.
"El Presidente" is slated to be released in last quarter of this year. (Sunnex)
