TELEVISION host Toni Gonzaga said she's more careful now about her food intake after she was hospitalized recently for swollen intestines.

In a Cinema News interview, Toni said her health issue also got in the way of her work, as one shooting day was halted because she need to be rushed to the hospital.

Director Paul Soriano, her longtime boyfriend, had to cancel his meeting that day to go straight to the hospital and check on her medical condition.

Toni said doctors found bacteria in her stomach, which caused her intestines to inflame, a condition usually triggered by improper diet. "Minsan hindi na tayo aware sa mga pagkain kung saan saan," she said.

Toni has been restricted from ingesting spicy, sour and fatty foods.

"Hindi na ako pwedeng mag salad, at hindi na ako pwedeng mabusog. Doon ako nalungkot. Kain lang daw pero hindi pwedeng mabusog dahil hirap yung stomach sa pag-digest," she said.

Toni is under medication for the next two months. (Sunnex)
