IN A surprised development, Rafael Rosell is now the newest import of GMA-7 after he signed a contract with the giant network.
Rafael was welcomed Thursday by GMA chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon, OIC for Entertainment Lilybeth Resonable, and Assistant Vice President for Drama Redgie Magno, as station's newest talent.
"I was looking for change. Para akong naging artista ulit. Naalala ko yung una kong pagpunta sa Pilipinas [It feels like I'm a newbie again. I remember my first time to come to the Philippines]. Sobrang excited ako and I was inspired," Rafael said.
"It's a new environment and new group of people that will help me improve more," he added.
The actor is slated to work with Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo and Alessandra de Rossi in the localized adaptation of Korean drama "Temptation of Wife."
He will also guest in GMA's upcoming primetime program "Aso ni San Roque."
Rafael has been with ABS-CBN since he started in showbiz.
His showbiz career was launched in "Tabing Ilog" in 2002 and he did numerous television and movie projects with the station.
He was part of "Marina" in 2004, "Prinsesa ng Banyera" in 2007, and Precious Hearts Romances series' "The Bud Brothers," "The Substitute Bride," "Midnight Phantom" and "Kristine".
Popoy Caritativo, Rafael's manager, is confident that his talent will fit with the Kapuso Network.
"Alam ko namang may lugar sa [I believe there is a place at] GMA for another leading man. Kumatok kami sa [We knocked at] GMA and they welcomed him with open arms. So we're here and I'm very thankful that they have good plans for him kaya we're very excited." (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
