VETERAN actor Eddie Garcia has denied reports that he suffered a stroke and was rushed to a hospital early last week, saying he is doing fine.
Eddie said that he went to Makati Medical Center recently to undergo executive check-up and everything went well.
He was only given some medicine to manage his high blood pressure.
Despite his age, Eddie is still active in movies and television series.
In fact, he is currently busy promoting "Bwakaw," a drama-comedy film about growing old and everyone's fear of growing old alone.
The film produced by Jun Lana will be screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and New York Film Festival this October.
In the film, Eddie plays the role of a closet gay who bequeathed his few material possessions to even fewer friends as he looks forward to his death.
Eddie's character, however, has learned to appreciate life after the death of his faithful dog "Bwakaw."
The 83-year-old actor shared that when he dies he wanted his body cremated and the ashes given to his pilot friend to be thrown at the Manila Bay. "That's it. No obituaries," he said.
"Bwakaw" is now being shown in cinemas nationwide. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
