Jessica, American idol stars to perform at 'The Big Dome'

FILIPINO-Mexican singer Jessica Sanchez is set to serenade her Filipino fans as "American Idol" finalists take stage for their first major concert in Manila.

Together with the show's grand winner, Phillip Phillips, and eight other "American Idol" alumni, the much-awaited group will perform at the Araneta Coliseum on Friday.

The idols are expected to sing their show's hit musical pieces and the carrier singles of their respective albums.

On her official Twitter account, Sanchez couldn't hide her excitement with this local American Idol tour. "Can't believe I'm here. Manila will def be one of my best memories," she said in a post.

Phillips also regarded the warm welcome the group received from the airport, all the way to their other activities in the capital. "Very big welcoming this am (morning) in Manila," he tweeted. "Manila! I can't wait to perform for all of you on September 21."

To recall, Sanchez received big support from the Philippines during her campaign for the "American Idol" title.

In an interview, Jessica said she's keen to visit and reconnect with her relatives in the province. She's expected to stay after Friday's concert to settle other endorsement deals made in the country. (Sunnex)
