Luis: Jennylyn has no involvement in Paolo, Lian split

LUIS Manzano said his relationship with Jennylyn Mercado remains strong despite the actress's alleged involvement in the separation of showbiz couple Lian Paz and Paolo Contis.

When he heard the rumor, Luis said he immediately sought for clarification from parties involved, including Jennylyn.

He admitted making calls to Lian to seek the truth but he declined to give details of the conversation.

"The only truth na nakita ko (sa mga lumalabas na balita) is yes tinawagan ko nga si Lian. May lumalabas na kwento, I want to hear all sides of the story as much as possible," he said during the press conference of his latest movie "This Guy’s in Love with U Mare" on Thursday.

Luis believes that things were just blown out of proportion by people who are trying to make an issue out of nothing.

Jennylyn, he said, shrugged off the rumor due to lack of basis.

"Nung lumabas pa lang yan dati, hindi na ako naniwala. Ako pa yung nagsabi kay Jenn (na may issue) and wala talaga. Hindi ko na hiningan ng paliwanag. Ganun ako kakampante sa aspeto na yun. Si Jenn naman tinatawanan niya lang yung ganyang issue na walang basis."

The "Pilipinas Got Talent" host said is confident that his girlfriend has no involvement in the marital issues of Paolo and Lian.

Jennylyn and Paolo used to work together in 2011 program "Futbolilits." Luis said he met the actor a couple of times when he visited his girlfriend in the set of the GMA show.

Luis clarified that he and Jennylyn are very much together, as he knows that there's nothing going on between Jennylyn and Paolo.

"Once and for all hindi po (kami nagkakalabuan). Hindi ko alam san nanggagaling yung issue na yun. Walang labuan factor throughout lumabas yung issue. Never kaming nagkalabuan even for a single day kaya ako ay nagulat sa mga lumabas," he said.

Luis also appreciates Paolo's move to clear Jennylyn's name.

"Paolo has a lot on his mind. May mga kailangan pa siyang ayusin sa mga desisyun niya. Yun naman ang nararapat na gawin," he said.

The television host wishes for all the negative intrigues to stop and let them keep their personal life away from the prying eyes of the public. (Sunnex)
