FILIPINO clothing giant Penshoppe staged a successful fan conference for its endorser, international actor Zac Efron, at the Mall of Asia Arena Saturday evening.
The event was attended by thousands of Efron’s fans who were eagerly waiting for the actor for months.
During the fan conference, Efron was interviewed by King of Talk Boy Abunda regarding his first visit to Manila, his short vacation in Legazpi and his new endorsement deal.
According to the "High School Musical" actor, it is his long-time dream to visit the country as he heard a lot of great things from his father.
"It's been absolutely incredible. It's been a dream of mine to come to the Philippines since a young boy. I'm finally here," he said.
"My dad, he used to come to the Philippines when I'm just a small boy. He told me amazing stories about his adventures out here, the food, and how amazing the people were," he added.
During the actor's short visit at the Misibis Bay in Cagraray Island, Bacacay, Albay, he tried zip lining, rode a helicopter to see the Mayon Volcano and ate the country's famous delicacy balut (fertilized duck egg).
The 24-year-old actor said balut is his favorite food at this moment.
"(My vacation in Bicol) It was unbelievable. The Filipinos are so nice. You make me feel so at home. I want to move here," he said.
Aside from his much deserved rest and recreation, the Hollywood heartthrob also did some work for his new campaign with Penshoppe.
It is his first clothing endorsement deal and he's impressed with the products of the Filipinos.
Efron said the clothes of Penshoppe reflects his laid back personality.
"I've never done an endorsement deal before. The cool thing with Penshoppe is for me, first and foremost, they are a Filipino brand, for the Philippines, by the Philippines," he said.
The actor is also eager to use some of Penshoppe clothes in his Hollywood projects.
The "The Lucky One" star joins co-Penshoppe ambassadors Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer, "Gossip Girl" stars Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester, and "Vampire Dairies" lead actor Ian Sommerhalder as the faces of Penshoppe All Star.
Efron said he is looking forward to visit the country again. (Sunnex)
