Toni keen to do serious roles

TELEVISION host Toni Gonzaga is looking forward to doing mature roles in movies, which will highlight her strength as a serious actress.

"Eventually as an actress gusto mo din i-explore ang kapasidad mo, ang kakayahan mo. Given the right project, the right script, gusto ko din naman i-try yung isang bagay na out of my comfort zone," she said.

"Once in my life and in my career, gagawa siguro ako ng isang project na turning point ng buhay ko and seryoso naman," she added.

Toni, however, said that as of the moment, she's not yet ready to do projects like "The Mistress" of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonso, which delves into the lives of men and women having an extra-marital affair.

Toni, who has been typecast as a romantic comedy star, said that kind of role requires acting maturity and experience.

"Hindi ko pa ata kaya. Pwede bang 'na-stress' na lang hindi yung 'The Mistress'. Kasi yung mga bagay na yun eh nakukuha mo yun sa experience and may pinanghuhugutan. Malaking challenge yan and pinaghahandaan yan," she said.

She also wants to do a program where she can share her life story, her passion, and still maintain her clean image.

"(Gusto ko ng) programa na sa akin, na makaka inspire sa tao, it is something that I love to do, it's my passion, yung shini-share yung buhay ko din sa kanila," she said.

She said she's keen to do it before getting married in two to three years. (Sunnex)
