ACTOR Edgar Allan Guzman said he is very proud and happy with the response of the theatregoers in the recently concluded PETA production "Bona."
For six weeks, Allan shared the centerstage and spotlight opposite seasoned comedian Eugene Domingo. The show was received warmly by many and earned numerous praises for its storyline and superb acting.
According to Edgar he never expected the positive reaction of those who watched the play and he's just happy they enjoyed the program.
He admitted, however, that while he was doing "Bona," he felt immense pressure to never disappoint the audience.
"Pressure pero masaya. Yung time na yun hindi talaga namin ine-expect yung tanggap ng tao. Actually na speechless ako nun kasi hindi ko alam talaga na ganun ka welcoming sila. Kinabahan talaga ako."
He said he's happy working with Eugene and said he misses their rehearsals.
Edgar said he doesn't know if there will be a repeat in Manila but talks are currently underway on doing the production in key provinces in the country.
Edgar is one of the few actors who could easily jump from one network to the other.
While doing "Enchanted Garden" on TV5, Edgar recently topbilled a "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode on the ABS-CBN.
Edgar said working with different stations gives him the edge from his contemporaries.
"Ang gusto ko nagagawa ko din lahat and at the same time dapat mas may edge sa iba. Better, mas naging maayos, mas may plano (yung career ko ngayon). Nakakatawid ako sa iba't ibang network," he said.
"Ngayon sa career ko mas nagagawa ko lahat, mas naipapakita ko sa tao na hindi lang ako sa main stream, or independent films ang kaya ko, kahit sa labas nito kaya ko din makapasok," he added.
After "Enchanted Garden," Edgar will focus on his first album, a movie for the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival produced by Unitel and TV5, and a possible independent film. (Sunnex)
