A STAR-STUDDED weekend is in store for the Visayas Region this weekend as GMA Network brings a number of its most sought-after stars to the cities of Dumaguete and Bacolod for the Kapuso Buglasan and Masskara Festivals plus the I-Witness Docufest Regional Tour.

Yesterday, October 12, GMA7's well-loved family sitcom Pepito Manaloto which stars Manilyn Reynes, Mosang, John Feir, Angel Satsumi, and Arthur Solinap graced Dumaguete City's Buglasan Festival.

Early in the afternoon, the cast boarded the Kapuso float for the Buglasan Parade that toured along the main streets of Dumaguete, also known as the City of Gentle People.

Jolting up the festivity further is the Kapuso Night held at Quezon Park featuring the Pepito Manaloto family, this time with the participation of Party Pilipinas' Mark Bautista and Geoff Eigenmann, Sports Pilipinas' and Day-Off's Isabel Oli, Luna Blanca's Chynna Ortaleza, and Protégé contenders Zandra Summer of Cebu, Thea Tolentino of Laguna, and Elle Ramirez of Mega Manila, leaving the crowd mesmerized.

Today, October 13, the Kapuso excitement extends all the way to the beautiful City of Smiles as child wonder Jillian Ward and Protégé Season 1's Nomer Limatog from Cebu amuse audiences in the Little Miss Masskara Pageant Night - a kick-off event to the city's week-long celebration of the Masskara Festival.

A series of exciting events and activities for the Masskara Festival are being mounted by the Network including Kapuso Mall Shows in Robinson's Place and SM City Bacolod plus a revelry brought by Party Pilipinas which will go live on October 21.

"The Kapuso Network is excited for this weekend's back-to-back events in Visayas. From the major Kapuso activities in Dumaguete's Buglasan Festival to a series of surprises in Bacolod's Masskara Festival, our Kapusos in Negros can't ask for more. We would like to thank the Buglasan Festival Committee, SM Bacolod, the Silver Masskara Festival Organization, Inc., and our generous event partners and sponsors for making all these possible ", shares GMA Regional TV AVP Oliver Amoroso.

Meanwhile, distinguished producer of remarkable documentaries I-Witness advances to Bacolod for its I-Witness Docufest Regional Promo Tour on Sunday, October 14. Representing the program is one of its multi-awarded hosts, Jay Taruc.

In the tradition of Serbisyong Totoo, Taruc will first visit 888 Chinatown Event Center at Barangay IX for a Kapuso Barangayan from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A screening of the high-caliber Best and Award-Winning Blocks by Taruc (Lapnos and Batang Kalabaw), Howie Severino (Saplot and Huling Hala Bira), Kara David (Gintong Putik and Ambulansyang de Paa), and Sandra Aguinaldo (Batch 2012 and Iskul Ko No. 1) will take place at SM Bacolod Cinema 3 from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. free for everyone.

An open forum and DVD signing with Taruc succeeds the documentary-screening from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Coming from four successful promo tours in Cebu, Iloilo, Davao, and most recently in Baguio, the I-Witness team looks forward to an equally productive fifth leg in Bacolod. (PR)
