RICHARD Gutierrez believed that the right time has come for him to share a little of his private life to the public by revealing the real status of his relationship with actress Sarah Lahbati.
"It's the right time to be happy and there's nothing wrong with that. I realized din na mas mabuti ng ganito. Sakit sa ulo yung mga pagtago-tago," the actor said during the grand press launch of "Extra Challenge."
Richard, who is known to be wary of his dating life, surprised even his mother, Annabelle Rama, when he told the entertainment press about his love affair with Sarah.
He revealed that even Sarah was surprised by his move. "Medyo nagulat din siya kasi nga yung track record ko hindi ganun. Mas maganda din yung walang stress, walang hassle," he said.
Richard said he saw no reason for him to hide the relationship.
"Pwede naman maging masaya at wala namang masama dun. Happy naman yung family ko, happy naman yung family ni Sarah. I don't think there's anything wrong," he said.
The couple recently travelled to Geneva, Switzerland, the hometown of 19-year-old Moroccan-Filipina beauty. They also visited Paris, France.
The 12-day vacation was said to be Richard's birthday gift to Sarah. The trip also served as a respite for the couple after "Makapiling Kang Muli."
"Ako personally hindi pa ako nakakapunta dun and matagal din siyang hindi nakabalik. It was just the right time para mag vacation," Richard said.
Annabelle running for Congress
Meanwhile, Richard said described his mother's congressional bid in Cebu City as an "extra challenge."
"Extra challenge pagtakbo ni mom as congresswoman in Cebu. Matinding paghahanada din ang ginagawa namin ngayon. Maraming planong."
The whole family is in full support of Annabelle, who recently filed his certificate of candidacy for a congressional seat in the northern district of Cebu City.
Richard believed that his mom can overcome the challenge of politics.
Richard said he will help his mom's bid by focusing on the youth, sports and education sector.
"May mga kanya kanya na kaming stretegies para matulunan mommy namin," he ended. (Sunnex)
