Derek denies dating Jessy

DEREK Ramsay clarified that he's not dating ABS-CBN actress Jessy Mendiola.

While working on the set of "A Secret Affair," co-star Andi Eigenmann relayed to Derek that he was seen by one Twitter user strolling at a mall with Jessy.

Derek dismissed the alleged sighting as he was actually working on the set.

"I know who she is but if we sat down and I spoken to her? No. How can I hide something like that? I was at the set. I don't have time to go to the mall because I was shooting the movie," he said.

The actor reiterated that his schedule is "set to set" and he's not the type of person who will spend time walking at the mall.

Derek said he prefers driving home to Tagaytay and spend time with his family.

Jessy is the latest name linked to the actor following his breakup with long-time girlfriend, Angelica Panganiban. Before her, Derek was reportedly dating Sam Pinto and Ruffa Gutierrez, which both parties denied.

"I have that sort of stereotype that I'm a playboy. Six years (relationship with Angelica), if I am a playboy, I don't think it would last that long, especially when the whole country is watching you," he said.

Recently, Derek confirmed that he is in a relationship with a non-showbiz girl. But with his movie "A Secret Affair," television projects "Amazing Race Philippines" and "Kidlat," the actor admitted that he has limited time to spare for his special someone.

Derek said he is thankful that the new girl understands the demands of his job and the long working hours. "I won't jump into a relationship with somebody who wouldn't understand me... my work," he said.

Derek said he does not plan to hide his new girlfriend forever.

"The worst thing is to deny somebody. If the moment is right, I will show her off to the world. Aalamin muna namin kung saan kami papunta," he ended. (Sunnex)
