ACTRESS Jessy Mendiola is ready for more mature and daring roles as she topbill Precious Hearts Romances presents "Paraiso" with Cebuano actor Matteo Guidicelli.
The new series follows the story of Yanie (Jessy), a street smart woman whose only desire was to alleviate her family from poverty, and Brennan (Matteo), a rich married guy who wants to prove his worth to his father.
The ship they boarded capsized and the two find themselves washed ashore on a small, unoccupied island. They start off on the wrong footing but will later on depend on each other for survival. Love will also blossom between the two.
Jessy said that she immediately accepted the role when the project was pitched to her. She believes she's emotionally and physically ready to play the role.
"Nung nalaman ko na yung story, pumayag na agad ako. Nung una kinakabahan ako kahit sinasabi nila na kaya mo yan because I did "Sabel" already. Pero ito kasi iba yung story niya, yung treatment niya and iba na din ako ngayon."
Jessy said she is happy and excited to share the boob tube with Matteo. She said the Cebuano actor is the perfect gentleman and they get along really well in the set of the new series.
"Hindi ko akalain na maging close kami and magiging open kami sa isa't isa, lalo na kung may problema kami with something. Natutuwa ako kasi ngayon lang ako nakaranas ng ganito sa isang partner. I never expected him to be so humble, to be so nice."
Jessy then dismissed any romantic rumors between them. She said their only focus now is work.
"Pakiramdam ko ito na po yun. Napakalaking blessing ang naibigay sa akin kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng sumuporta. Maasahan nyo yung best namin."
They will be joined by Aaron Villaflor, Bodjie Pascua, Ina Feleo, Angel Jacob, Marissa Sanchez, Guji Lorenzana, Evangeline Pascual, Ces Quesada, Matt Evans and Jewel Mische.
Directed by Rechie Del Carmen, Connie Macatuno and Nico Hernandez, "Paraiso" will premier starting November 5 on Kapamilya Gold. (Sunnex)
