PAMPANGA native Vin Abrenica and Tarlac beauty Sophie Albert emerged as Season One winners of talent search "Artista Academy" on Saturday night.
The two bested finalists Chanel Morales, Shaira Mae, Mark Neumann and Akihiro Blanco at the conclusion of the TV5 show at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The six were given a chance to prove their worth in the 13-week-old competition. Each had a song and dance number and their mini-drama special directed by Eric Quizon and Bb. Joyce Bernal was also shown during the awards night.
Judges Wilma Galvante, seasoned actress Lorna Tolentino, television host Gelli de Belen and director Mac Alejandre only had the best words for Sophie and Vin, brother of Kapuso hunk and reality search alumnus Aljur Abrenica.

Gelli said Vin is born to perform and is focused to improve on his craft. Galvante added the 21-year-old Best Actor is ready to compete with the best singers, dancers and artists.
Sophie's performance in the short drama, meanwhile, caught the eye of the judges.
Lorna said the 22-year-old beauty is very sensitive when it comes to her role on television and has that capability to transform in every character assigned to her.
Speaking to reporters, the two said they couldn't believe that they were named Best Actor and Actress.
"Hindi ko talaga inexpect na ako yung mananalo. Today, sinabi ko lang na gagawin ko lang yung best ko and I'm just going to enjoy it kasi ito na yung last," Sophie said.
Vin added: "Ang saya saya ko ngayon. Nung natawag yung pangalan ko hindi ko alam anong gagawin ko. Gusto kong sumigaw, gusto kong tumalon."
The two also said that anyone from the Final 6 deserves the title. Vin and Sophie believed it was their lucky day.
"Everyone deserves to win. Siguro today is just my lucky day, pero lahat kami pare-parehong pagod at hirap yung pinagdaanan namin sa competition," she said.
The two brought home P20 million worth of prizes including an exclusive contract with TV5, a condominium unit, a Toyota Innova and an endorsement deal with toothpaste brand CloseUp.
Sophie's winnings were personally handed by veteran actor Eddie Garcia and TV5 president Ray Espinosa, while Vin's prizes were awarded by Superstar Nora Aunor and TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan.
The Final 6 will also star in the upcoming show "Forever Barkada" with other "Artista Academy" students Benjoe Leoncio, Brent Manzano, Chris Leonardo, Jon Orlando, Malak So Shdifat, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada and Stephanie Rowe.
Meanwhile, "Artista Academy Tweens" will open its doors next summer for aspiring stars ages 12-15. (Sunnex)
