'A Beautiful Affair' premiers tonight

PERENNIAL partners John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo will celebrate their decade-long on-screen team up through the new primetime series "A Beautiful Affair," which premiers tonight, October 29, on ABS-CBN.

Directed by Katski Flores, the new evening soap was shot in Vienna and Salzburg, Austria, in May.

Katski said it was very critical for the production team to look for a beautiful and unfamiliar place that will capture the fancy of the Filipino audience.

The team also considered the architectural display of the two cities from the rest of the European countries.

"Sa umpisa ng kwento kinailangan namin ng isang lugar na hindi pa nakikita ng manonood na pwedeng i-isolate yung characters na ginagampanan ni John Lloyd ni Bea," said Katski, who works with John Lloyd and Bea for the first time.

She said the story of new series was a film concept she did in 2005.

After Star Cinema decided not to use her concept, Flores immediately pitch the idea to ABS-CBN head Lauren Dyogi. It was then approved to be made on television.

"Masaya yung experience, nakakapagod (while filming in Austria). Pero hindi namin naramdaman yung pagod while we were filming this... while we were there. It's very fulfilling," she added.

Katski said that she had fun working with John Lloyd, Bea and John Estrada because they take their role very seriously.

She said the audience can only expect quality acting and soap from the stars and the network.

"We will try to stay true to our promise of offering something new. I can guarantee that we will give you a different viewing experience. It's a different way of telling a familiar story. It's a story we could relate to, we could feel for," she added. (Sunnex)
