Derek denies dating Cristine

ACTOR Derek Ramsay rejected rumors linking him to "No Other Woman" leading lady Cristine Reyes.

He said they are just friends and he's also very close to Cristine's boyfriend, Rayver Cruz.

"Bro ko si Rayver and alam ninyo naman na naging leading lady ko si Cristine sa 'No Other Woman.' I got close to her and Anne. I think Cristine answered (that issue) by saying na sila pa rin. There's no truth to that,” he said during the press launch of his newest primetime series "Kidlat."

The actor believes the issue started when they were recently spotted in Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club in Nasugbu, Batangas.

According to Derek, his friends first saw Cristine and they wanted to have their photos taken with her. It was a five-minute encounter and he was with his family.

"That (sighting with her in Nasugbu), I was with my father. I was coming from golf. A friend said nakita daw niya si Cristine in Nasugbu. So tinext ko siya. Yun lang yun. She's using Rayver's car,” he said.

Derek admitted, however, that he went out with Cristine with friends.

"It's true that Cristine and I went out with some. When we go out, people are going to see us and we are not hiding anything, that's why we're comfortable with each other,” he said.

The "Kidlat" actor said he's very close to Cristine and Rayver. He shared there was one instance when Cristine went out with his former girlfriend Colette in London.

"When she went to the UK, she asked me kung may mga friends ba ako na pwede siyang ilabas. I called my ex-girlfriend to take my friend out,” he said.

"Rayver comes to the house. We play basketball but not recently. I don't see much of Rayver but we are both from the south (of Manila).”

Derek, meanwhile, declined to comment on reports that the actress ended her romance with Rayver.

"We don't talk about her personal life. I don't know if we had any serious conversation, yun lang siya, asaran. She's a really nice girl. She's easy to be with. She's misunderstood in some ways kasi sabi ko nga minsan para syang laging galit,” he said.

"I've never thought of it that way because we are friends. She's definitely a beautiful girl; we get along, our personalities match. But she's my friend and Rayver is my friend and ang pagkakaalam ko sila pa rin.”

As for his love life, Derek said he is not committed to anyone because “I'm married to my job right now." (Sunnex)
