Rico Blanco doing 2 shows in different channels

RICO Blanco clarified there won't be any conflict or problem with his separate projects in rival stations ABS-CBN and TV5.

The rock singer is currently part of the afternoon series "May Isang Pangarap" with Carmina Villarroel and Vina Morales on the Kapamilya channel while he will be hosting "Kanta Pilipinas" on TV5 with actor/producer Marvin Agustin.

"As long as magkaiba yung project ko. I'm not exclusively tied with any network so it's a blessing. Delikadesa. Pagka soap ang ginagawa mo sa isa, hindi rin ako gagawa ng soap sa kabila," he said in a recent interview.

Rico added that his two projects are entirely different from each other.

When asked why he's coming back to acting after his stint in John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin's hit 2010 series "Imortal," the singer said his schedule allowed him to accept more shows this year.

"Katatapos ko lang mag release ng album. Yung acting has always been an option ever since. Over all tinitingnan din namin kung anong ipa-prioritize sa career. I guess for the first part of my career gumawa muna ako ng pangalan sa music, although even then gusto ko na din i-entertain yung acting," he said.

"It's a matter of time. Just like 'Imortal' before, this is the right project at the right time and kasya naman siya sa schedule. Timing talaga. It's a blessing na busy (ako). Nakakapagod minsan but I can't complain."

"May Isang Pangarap" will put to test his acting skills while in "Kanta Pilipinas" he will serve as inspiration to aspiring singers.

He will not only host the singing contest, but will also join the judges' table with musical giants Mr. Ryan Cayabyab and singer Lani Misalucha.

Rico said the reality competition was personally presented to him by close friend Marvin Agustin and he immediately said yes with the project.

"They presented the show and talagang na-excite ako."

Rico said he's looking forward to a bigger year ahead. (Sunnex)
