CONCERT King Martin Nievera said he has a "very good relationship" now with former wife and mother of his children, Concert Queen Pops Fernandez.

During the ASAP 18th anniversary press conference, the entertainment press caught up with the singer and asked him about his plans for this coming Valentine's Day.

Martin and Pops, together with Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid, will stage a Valentine concert dubbed as "Foursome" on February 14 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

According to Martin he's enjoying working again with Pops in one project and described their friendship now as "great and awesome".

"When we work together, it is even better. We're getting closer again, we're laughing a lot, we're complaining together if the material is coming too slow. We're right back to the old days again and it's a lot better than it ever was," he said.

Martin believes their personal relationship stood the test of time its foundation is friendship. He added that love will always be there between them.

"Pops and I started out as best of friends. Friendship ang foundation namin, hindi pa fling fling. We were friends for many years before we fell in love with each other. I think that's the reason why we are the way we are now. Ang foundation of our love, which still exists, is because of that foundation of friendship," Martin said.

The singer also said that on Valentine's Day there wouldn't be any candle lit dinner between him and Pops, but business as usual.

"Dun lang kami sa backstage magce-celebrate. Pops and I learned how to make whatever we have. We don't have to make a big deal like go to Boracay to have a date," he said.

When asked if he had conversations with Pops like when they reach a certain age, and both of them are still single and available, is there a possibility of them getting back together, Martin replied:

"Pops always said who knows what could happen in 10 years and it's been almost 12. Pops and I didn't start as lovers, that's why we are friends now. If you start out as lovers, you would always be lovers. Your fights are more intense and when you get back together, it is also intense din."

He added that his kids never pressured them to rekindle their relationship. Both their boys remained very supportive and loving towards them.

On the possibility of Pops finding a new man, Martin's only hope is that his ex-wife would find a "quality person" worth her love.

"Whoever courts my ex-wife has to be a quality person. Good personality has good soul, he fears God, and he respects my children. That simple. I didn't ask for a rich tycoon, just someone who got a good soul." (Sunnex)
