MULTIMEDIA star Toni Gonzaga clarified she's not engaged yet to boyfriend of five years, director Paul Soriano.

After the press presentation of Toni as the host of singing show "The Voice of the Philippines," the entertainment press immediately asked the singer/actress about the rumors of her supposed engagement with Paul.

"Hindi at wala pa akong engagement ring. Hindi pa sa ngayon... darating din tayo doon," she said

When asked what's keeping them from tying the knot, Toni replied: "Dati nasasagot ko yan, ngayon hindi ko na masagot kung ano (ang inaantay ko)."

"Naalala ko nung ininterview si Beyonce, it took them seven years before they tied the knot. Sabi niya 'you have to have your own life before you become someone else's wife'. So, I'm enjoying my life now before I become someone's wife," Toni said.

Toni added that she's keen to settle down in two years time and admitted that they discuss the possibility of marriage and settling down, but they are not in a hurry.

"I entered this relationship hindi para sa trial and error, testing then palit agad. I'm committed to this. Hindi naman ako naiinip. Actually siya din," she said.

The 28-year-old also revealed that if she decides to get married and have kids, her focus will be diverted to her family. Her showbiz work load will definitely lessen.

"Yun na yung priority ko. Hindi na yung nasa race. Ibang race na ito. Raising my own child na ito."

She added that her family already warmed up to the idea of her and Paul getting married and building their own family in the future.

"I think okay na din sila. Nung una parang hindi pa masyado. Ngayon, okay na sila kasi nakarating na din naman ako sa edad na okay naman. May tiwala din sila," she said.

Now that she will be joining "The Voice" team for nationwide auditions, Toni said her schedule wouldn't affect her relationship with Paul.

She added that they've managed to keep the relationship private and burning even though they are both busy with their respective careers.

"Sanay na si Direk Paul. Actually natutuwa nga ako sa kanya kasi nung nalaman niya na yung 'The Voice,' na-excite siya na naibigay sa akin yung ganitong programa kasi hindi ko din ini-expect. He's really happy for me and very supportive," she said.

"We respect each other's work space and work place. Pag may trabaho siya, trabaho niya yun. Pag trabaho ko, akin naman yun. We always make time for each other. One of the reasons why we lasted this long is because we are always excited to see each other kasi limited yung time. So, pag magkasama kami we have so much to talk about," she added.

"The Voice of the Philippines" will premier on second quarter of 2013. (Sunnex)
