Toni Gonzaga dismisses KC Concepcion comparison

MULTIMEDIA STAR Toni Gonzaga said the public should not compare her with KC Concepcion because they both have their own unique style of hosting singing competitions.

Toni will be hosting the local franchise of "The Voice," which premiers in the second quarter of this year.

After it was revealed that she's will be hosting the newest singing competition of ABS-CBN, many wasted no time drawing comparison between her and KC who hosted the "X Factor Philippines."

"Magkaiba naman. Magkaiba naman, although parehong reality-singing competition. Magkaiba kami ni KC sa paghu-host. Kaya hindi mo kami puwedeng ikumpara," Toni said in the recent press launch for "The Voice of the Philippines."

She said they both have different hosting styles.

"Iba yung istilo ni KC, iba yung istilo ko. Pareho lang kaming hosts. Hindi maganda yun. Wag na tayong mag-compare. May kanya-kanya naman tayong strength, abilities, skills, and talents," she said.

Toni added that they have different things to offer to the viewing public.

On the confirmation of Bong Osorio, ABS-CBN head of Corporate Communications, of Sarah Geronimo's entry to the judges' table, Toni said: "I think she'll be great for this show. I think she's really prepared for this and this is a new side of her na hindi pa nakikita ng tao, yung mag coach."

Asked if she thinks Sarah has the skills and is too young for the job, Toni replied: "She's one of the best performers we have here in the country. World class talent and I think it's going to be interesting on how she will share her ideas, her learnings, her style. Exciting ito."

ABS-CBN is yet to reveal the three other judges who will join Sarah in the judges table. (Sunnex)
