TV5 talent Jasmine Curtis-Smith said she is thankful for her mom's successful knee operation and revealed her goals for the rest of the year.
Jasmine wasn't able to return to Australia last February as her mother decided to go back to the country and had her knee operations in Manila.
According to Jasmine, her mom's knee deteriorated and the doctors needed to install titanium plate on the affected part.
"It's very successful. I'm thankful for the doctors that lead her surgery. They were comforting because mom was hesitant at the start because ang tagal niyang nawala sa Pilipinas. Hindi siya secure because she got used to the Australian way of life," she said in a recent interview.
The young star added: "Everything is good. She started walking with the walker and she's progressing. She's nearly there. She just needs to finish her therapy sessions."
According to her she won't be back in Australia for awhile because she still needs to settle her college degree application and other showbiz commitments in the coming months.
She's doing two independent films in April, one of which is included in the upcoming Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
Jasmine also confirmed that she will still be doing the television anthology prepared by her mother network TV5 in April or May.
"I'm actually happy with the way my career is going. I know it's been very slow because I've been studying. But it's better than nothing. Sobrang swerte ko kasi kahit papaano may endorsements parin ako because I'm hardly here," she said.
But the young actress reiterated she's not putting her education on hold just because tv and movie projects pour in.
"This year I'm hoping to do college. Wait listed kasi ako and hindi pa sigurado which university because if ever I don't get there, I'll apply for a different one. Either way I will do college talaga," Jasmine said.
She added: "That's my main priority. Other than my family, it's really my education first and then showbiz in between. Kasi nakaya ko naman siya before, so kakayanin ko din yan now."
When asked on her goals for this year, Jasmine said aside from going to a good university and getting good grades, she's keen to improve her acting and to not disappoint her network and fans on the support she received over the years. (Sunnex)
