Aljur Abrenica joins 'Indio'

ACTOR Aljur Abrenica will join the cast of GMA-7's primetime series "Indio."
He will play the character of Bagandi, a datu of a small banwa.
Aljur said he prepared for the new role by doing acting workshops and physical trainings.
"Pinaghandaan ko talaga ang role ko dito sa Indio saka sumailalim rin ako sa workshops dahil kailangang makipagsabayan ako sa mga malalaking artista na bahagi nitong napakalaking programa na Indio," he said.
Aljur once top billed the television adaptation of famous Filipino comic character, Machete, also on the Kapuso network.
In "Indio," Aljur will star opposite Rhian Ramos, Jennylyn Mercado, Senator Bong Revilla and more.
Meanwhile, Aljur is also set to shoot an episode for "Magpakailanman" where he will play the role of a known independent film actor.
Aljur refused to reveal the actor's identity yet, but he said the subject used to work as a call boy and macho dancer.
"Ako, honored ako na gaganap sa naging buhay niya. Napaka-interesting and first time ko din ito gagawin. And probably, last na siguro," he said, adding that he will be required to do daring scenes and take on a more mature role in the project.
The "Magpakailanman" episode will be shot this month. (Sunnex)
