Christian Bautista now a GMA-7 talent-A A +A

FILIPINO international singer Christian Bautista ended his nine-year engagement with ABS-CBN, as he signed a three-year exclusive contract with GMA-7 on Wednesday afternoon.
He said coming up with the decision was a long and not an easy process.
"Years, months of praying, meetings, asking for advice and the pieces fell together. My family, my management, and I believe the best way right now with my present career is to be part of GMA," Christian told at the sidelights of the MYX Music Awards on Wednesday.
Christian, who started his career after he joined ABS-CBN's singing competition "Star in a Million," said he is interested to join the cast of Indonesian version of the popular noontime show, "Eat Bulaga."
"If we're going to talk of one special thing I will going to do, it's the Indonesian 'Eat Bulaga.' I'm excited para doon. Meron akong sinusuportahan na charity endeavors na matutulungan din," he added.
To recall, the longest running noontime variety show was syndicated in Indonesia last year, making it the first Philippine program to be franchised to another country.
He also believed that moving to GMA-7 will coincide with his booming career in the Asian music scene. He said that it is his way of laying the grounds for possible projects in Jakarta.
Aside from the initial musical shows he will be doing, the singer also revealed he will also try his hands at acting.
Asked about his departure from ABS-CBN, Christian said he parted ways with his former mother network "in good terms."
"There was one day where I formally said goodbye to my ASAP family and the executives. It's very emotional for me because it's nine years. I have so much to be thankful for. We ended very well. We hug, we said our congratulations to each other. We all came out as friends," he said.
Christian treats this transfer to GMA as a continuation of his show biz career. "Katulad nga ng sabi ni Jose Marie Chan, life is a constant change. And I believe it's for the best," he said.
The singer will be formally launched as GMA talent on Sunday, March 24, on "Party Pilipinas." (Sunnex)
