She received the recognition for being one of the key names in the 80's that shaped and forever changed the image and sound of music not only in the Philippines, but also in other countries as well.
As a fitting tribute, MYX tapped eight of the hottest names in the music scene today. Singers Julie Anne San Jose, Kyla, Nikki Gil, Richard Poon, Rachelle Anne Go, Juris Fernandez, Erik Santos and Christian graced the stage and sang Lea's hit songs.
Leah added that the MYX Magna Award trophy is very special to her because it was given by Filipinos who have supported her career through the years.
"This is where I started my recording career. It came from MYX, which is a well-respected music channel here in the Philippines," she said.
The event was hosted by VJ Chino, Iya Villania, and Nikki Gil. (Sunnex)
