Chiz speaks up about his conflict with Heart's parents

SENATOR Francis "Chiz" Escudero reacted to the latest controversy between him and girlfriend Heart Evangelista's parents, Cecille and Ray Ongpauco.

Earlier this week, the actress' parents called for a press conference expressing their disapproval of Heart's May-December romance with the politician.

Mrs. Ongpauco cited Chiz's marital status, age difference, and his disrespectful attitude towards them as reasons why they forbid their daughter to continue her relationship with the senator.

She also alleged that in the few occasions Escudero visited their home, Chiz came drunk.

During the campaign of Team PNOY in Naga City, Chiz finally broke his silence on the issue. He said that his personal life doesn't get in the way of his political career. He said the issues affect him.

"Nadadamay na ang mga anak ko, nadadamay na ng nanay ko. Kamamatay pa lang ng tatay ko at parang pinapalabas na hindi ako pinalaki ng maayos," he said in a tv interview.

Chiz added: "Kahit gaano man karami ang pera nila, hindi naman siguro lisensya yun para maliitin kung sino man. Or yurakan ang katauhan ko."

The senator said he loves Heart and their relationship is strong amid the disapproval of her parents.

"Mahal ko siya and malinaw naman na matindi itong pinagdadaanan namin. Masakit siyempre," he said.

According to Mrs. Ongpauco, her daughter is treating Chiz the same way she treated her former boyfriends.

"She allows them to practically live in her condo. She spends for all the households, including groceries. She allows them to use her Mercedes-Benz and she even pays for the gas," Heart's mother said.

Mrs. Ongpauco said she knows her daughter is old enough to make choices but they wish her not to date someone like the senator.

"Maybe she's happy where she is, we don't have a problem with that. As I've said, she's 28 years old. We're just concern with how the person she's with can be this way to a family," she added.

Mrs. Ongpauco revealed that Heart's father is greatly affected by the latest controversy in their family.

"Heart your dad does not deserve this. You've done all these things to me but your father does not deserve this. You know how much your father loves you," she said.

Heart is still keeping her silence on the issue. But on her official Twitter page, the actress posted this message: "Today, tomorrow and the next will bring me heartaches... why try to take away my happiness." (Sunnex)
