Toni Gonzaga to host new cooking show-A A +A
Monday, June 17, 2013
MULTIMEDIA star Toni Gonzaga is adding another title to her show biz belt as she's taken the new role of domestic diva on television.
The 28-year-old actress-TV host will host the upcoming weekend morning program "Kuwentong Kusina, Kuwentong Buhay" on ABS-CBN.
The show will feature inspiring real life stories from letter senders alongside special recipes. Together with a guest Kapamilya star or a celebrity chef, Toni will prepare dishes for the letter sender's whole family.
"Ang highlight namin dito ay pagkain at ang kuwento ng bawat subject na ife-feature namin. Nandon lang ako para itawid yung kwento nila, para tulungang i-share kung ano yung dapat i-kwento," Toni said.
Aside from the real-life stories, "Kuwentong Kusina, Kuwentong Buhay" will also feature different culinary destinations in the country. Local dishes will be served fresh to the viewers.
For someone who is fond of watching cooking shows on lifestyle channels, Toni said she's happy to gain new skills and knowledge in the kitchen.
"I got fascinated by watching cooking shows kasi ginagaya ko rin kapag may binabaon ako at ginagawa ko on my own. Natutuwa ako how they come up with different kinds of dishes," she said.
Not known to many, the television host is currently taking baking and cooking classes at the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA) in Katipunan, Quezon City.
The said cooking courses were actually a fifth anniversary gift last year from her long-time boyfriend, director Paul Soriano.
"He was really the one who pushed and enrolled me to cooking classes. Sabi niya na ang hilig ko daw magluto-luto sa bahay, so binigyan niya ako noon," she said.
Although she's somehow preparing for a more domesticated life, Toni said they still don't have plans of settling down just yet. She's just happy cooking and preparing dishes for Paul and her whole family.
"Kuwentong Kusina, Kuwentong Buhay" airs every Sunday, starting June 23, at 9 a.m. on ABS-CBN. (Sunnex)
