AFTER months of waiting, romantic comedy movie "My Lady Boss" will finally be shown on the big screen starting July 3.
Produced and released by Regal and GMA Films, the said flick is top billed by GMA actors Marian Rivera and Richard Gutierrez.
In an interview with "My Lady Boss" director Jade Castro, he said that they moved the movie's play date from April 10 to the first week of July due to technical and management decisions.
"Yung paglipat ng playdate ay decision ng GMA at Regal. Ang paglipat ay dahil sa naghanap ng mas magandang playdate. Kasi nung April, katatapos lang din ng shooting namin nun at nag post production din kami kaya gipit sa oras," Castro said.
Castro denied reports that they postponed the premiere of the movie because they don't want to compete to John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo's flick "It Takes A Man and A Woman," which currently holds the highest opening gross in Philippine Cinema.
The director said their main concern during that time was Hollywood big flick "Iron Man 3," starring Robert Downey, and not the locally produced films.
Marian said the postponement of her film's play date helped the team further enhance the movie. She promises quality film to the viewers.
"Sa pagkakataon na ito mas na-edit ng mas maganda, mas mahabang panahon para maging maayos siya at the same time, mas may kumpiyansa kami na mas napaayos pa siya lalo," she said.
Richard, for his part, said that if the moviegoers will compare the trailers released in April to what was released weeks ago, the recent one is more plot-driven and the sequences were edited well.
The two actors and Castro hopes that the viewing public will appreciate what they've done in the movie. The director said he doesn't expect anything but praying that more people will get to watch this project.
"I'm hoping na tangkilikin ng marami ang palabas kasi mag-eenjoy sila. Ibang Marian and Richard ang makikita nila ditto," Castro said.
"My Lady Boss" also stars Tom Rodriguez, Rocco Nacino, Matet de Leon, Benjie Paras, Maricel Laxa, Pinky Amador, Jackielou Blanco, Sandy Andolong and Ronaldo Valdez. (Sunnex)
