SUPERSTAR Nora Aunor bagged another Best Actress trophy for "Thy Womb" in the recently concluded 3rd Sakhalin International Film Festival held in Sakhalinsk Oblast, Russia.
The trophy is Aunor's fourth acting award for same movie, which is directed by award-winning director Brillante Mendoza. "Thy Womb" is one of the official entries in last year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
Nora won similar acting awards in the 7th Asian Film Awards in Hong Kong, 6th Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Australia and the coveted Bisato d'Oro for Best Actress in the 69th Venice International Film Festival.
Aside from Aunor's acting nod, the film was also nominated in Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cast and Grand Prix of the Audience awards.
The seasoned actress will be featured in Mes De Guzman's "Ang Kwento ni Mabuti," one of the entries in the first CineFilipino Film Festival.
The movie tells the story of Mabuti, a healer who looks at life positively despite her poverty. Everything changes, however, when she accidentally discovered a bag full of cash.
"Ang Kwento ni Mabuti" and other official entries in CineFilipino will be screened from September 18 to 24 at New Port Cinemas in Resorts World Manila, Gateway Cineplex in Quezon City, Lucky Chinatown in Binondo with additional viewing at the Shangri-la Plaza Cineplex in Ortigas from September 21 to 22.
