ACTOR Tom Rodriguez signed an exclusive three-year deal with GMA-7.
The signing took place Thursday afternoon in GMA compound in Quezon City and was attended by network executives, chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon, president Gilberto Duavit, Entertainment head Lilybeth Resonable, VP for Entertainment Marivin Arayata, VP for Drama Redgie Magno and his manager Popoy Caritativo.
Tom said he's happy to be part of the station and honored to be given such opportunity by GMA-7.
"It's really flattering that the whole GMA network is putting their trust on someone like me. Ang sarap ng feeling that they have gambled on putting me in My Husband’s Lover as a newcomer. First primetime show ko ito and sinali nila ako sa ganitong klaseng programa," he said.
Duavit said they have lots of projects in mind for Tom and they're cooking something big this October for the supporters of the actor.
"Looking at the clear talent and versatility of Tom, sa kasalukuyan ang ating Drama group are already looking at additional programs for Tom after 'My Husband’s Lover.'"
"Locally, there is one we are planning to do within the month of October. So, Tom will be very, very busy. Bahagi ito ng pasasalamat sa ating mga Kapusong manonood na patuloy ang pagtangkilik sa programa. At masasabi na rin na isa itong pagkakataon na magsama-sama ang cast na mag-alay na isang palatuntunan para sa ating mga Kapuso."
The 25-year-old actor started to get noticed on television when he played the love interest of Aiza Seguerra in the hit morning series "Be Careful With My Heart." But after appearing on the said show, Tom moved to GMA-7 and further cemented his name in the industry when he took the role of Vincent Soriano in "My Husband's Lover."
His on-screen unconventional love triangle with Carla Abellana and Dennis Trillo made headlines. "My Husband's Lover" is reportedly set to bid goodbye on September 27. (Sunnex)
