METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino asked Star Cinema to reconsider the withdrawal of "Be Careful With My Heart" from this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
In a phone interview, Tolentino told Sun.Star that he received the formal letter of withdrawal from the ABS-CBN film outfit on Thursday.
"I asked them to reconsider," he said.
Reports said the pull out was due to the tight schedule of the entire cast and crew as the hit daytime series is still ongoing.
If Star Cinema would stand by its decision, another film will come in and replace "Be Careful With My Heart" in the annual movie festival.
"Nag meeting na yung Executive Committee kanina (Thursday). May rules diyan na in place and may deliberation pa ngayon, Maraming films ang nakapila," Tolentino added.
"Be Careful With My Heart" is among the eight official entries to this year's MMFF. The seven others are "Kimmy Dora Prequel," "Torky and My Little Bossing," "Boy Girl Bakla Tomboy," "My Super Kap," "10000 Hours," "San Pedro Calungsod, Batang Martir," and "Papag." (Sunnex)
